For want of (not) Measuring: Review

For Want of (not) Measuring is an eclectic exhibition that investigates the role of measurement in art and how we perceive the world around us.

It brings together a group of local and international artists to explore the problematic and poetic use of systems and measurement. The exhibition’s narrative takes a metaphysical approach to exploit the corporeal use of what we deem to be the measuring apparatus. The project challenges the traditional view of measurement as a purely objective tool for understanding.

Instead, it explores the subjective and problematic ways in which measurement can be used, particularly in relation to time, space, and memory. The exhibition utilises various art forms, including drawing and painting, sculpture, photography, installation, film, and sound.
